More salsa superstars come to Ohio  Save the dates for the 2004 Festival Latino at Bicentennial Park in Downtown Columbus on Friday-Saturday June 18-19.  The largest Hispanic/Latino event in Ohio, the two days are filled with non-stop music, food, and fun.  This year, the festival site is even bigger!  And most exciting are the headlining performances of Oscar D'Leon on Friday June 18 at 10:30pm and La India on Saturday June 19 at 10:00pm.

Oscar D'Leon, the "Lion of Salsa", has recorded more than 50 albums, has received several gold records and numerous awards and honors. His name is recognized all over the world. Oscar is a talented sonero, with exceptional improvising skills and an extraordinary showman who takes control of the stage before harmonizing the first melody.

La India, nicknamed the "Princess of Salsa" by Tito Puente, is one of salsa's most recognized names. She has sung with Marc Anthony, Tito Nieves, Oscar D'Leon and Tino Puente. La India's albums Sobre el Fuego, Sola and her current release Latin Song Bird: Mi Alma y Corazón have received Grammy nominations. Latin Song Bird: Mi Alma y Corazón was awarded 2003's Billboard's Tropical/Salsa album of the year/female. Produced by Emilio Estefan, K.C. Porter, Isidro Infante and Jose Gazmey, the album mixes pop ballads, bachata, boleros and merengue with passionate salsa.

Festival Latino is a free event, and draws people from all over Ohio, Michigan, Pennsylvania, and beyond.  There are plenty of hotels in the area, but they sell out, so book early!  For more information:  http://www.festivallatino.net/  Also see: Acai.
